● I decided to re-edit this footage, basically for my own viewing pleasure. The original video was edited well, BUT not perfected. Doch seine Signature-Gitarre bekam er schon einige Jahre zuvor, als er sich bereits mit “Dixie Dregs” und “Kansas” einen Namen gemacht hatte. Übrigens war es auch für Music Man die erste Signature-Gitarre überhaupt. In dieser betörend schönen SM kommen nur beste Zutaten zum Einsatz, die Verarbeitungsqualität ist auf höchstem Niveau. Pappelkorpus mit Flamed Maple-Top, Birdseye Maple-Neck mit Rosewood-Griffbrett, hochwertiges, verstimmungsfreies Tremolo von Music Man im 'Floyd Rose'-Style und ein Klemmsattel laden zu ausdrucksstarkem, modernen Spiel in Hard Rock und Blues ein. Die Steve Morse Signature-Tonabnehmer in klassischer H-S-H Bestückung sind extrem flexibel und variabel einsetzbar, sie reagieren excellent auf differenzierten Anschlag und unterschiedliche Volumen- und Toneinstellungen. Der Mittel-Tonabnehmer ist zur Brücke hin versetzt, da ist nichts im Wege beim schnellen Solospiel. Auch klanglich hat das seinen Reiz. Die Positionen 2 und 4 am 5-fach Schalter schalten Bridge und Middle bzw. Bridge und Neck parallel, ebenfalls sehr reizvoll. Music Man Gitarren sind für ihre Hälse bekannt und die Steve Morse macht da keine Ausnahme. Dank Ölfinish, einer angenehm niedrigen Saitenlage und einem tollen, etwas kräftigeren D-Shaping, liegt der Hals sehr gut in der Hand und die Bespielbarkeit ist auf gewohnt hohem Niveau. Eben typisch Music Man! Im Scan auf unserer Plek Station haben wir tatsächlich noch Ansatzpunkte für Verbesserungen gesehen, die wir durch präzises Abrichten der Bünde und ein frisches Setup realisiert haben. Der Zustand der Steve Morse ist, abgesehen von einigen kleineren Gebrauchsspuren und einer Macke auf der Decke, sehr gut. Die Bünde sind in fast neuwertigem Zustand und zeigen nur wenige Gebrauchsspuren. Im Lieferumfang ist der originale Music Man-Koffer, etwas Einstellwerkzeug sowie die obligatorische Schaltungsübersicht enthalten.
