Detecting humans is one of the biggest challenges in Home Automation. Most of us use PIR sensors for that purpose. Unfortunately, they do not detect presence without movement and switch off. Who wants that the TV switches off when you quietly watch a video? Recently, new radar sensors appeared that solve this problem. But they have a slow reaction when you enter the room. Você vai aprender a construir um SONAR CASEIRO, ou seja, uma espécie de “radar” para "enxergar com som". Mas não é só isso... No final, ainda vai rolar uma BATALHA NAVAL ÉPICA usando esse sonar. Que a gente é apaixonado por submarino não é segredo para ninguém, não é mesmo? E já fizemos muita coisa inspirada nesse tema. Por isso, tivemos a ideia de fazer um sonar caseiro do zero. Mas, afinal, o que é um sonar? É um instrumento de localização que pode ser usado dentro e fora d’água. Os sonares conseguem medir a distância dos objetos através das ondas sonoras e, como o som se propaga muito bem na água, ele é usado por embarcações. No caso do submarino, ele pode mandar um som e, conforme o eco desse som vai retornando, o aparelho consegue perceber o que está à sua frente e medir a distância. Bem útil no fundo do mar, onde não se enxerga nada! Mas isso não significa que o sonar funcione somente na água. Ele também opera muito bem acima dos oceanos. A única coisa é que, como as ondas sonoras não se propagam tão bem no ar quanto na água, ele acaba sendo menos preciso do que um radar, por exemplo, que usa ondas de rádio. Curtiram a teoria? Então, vamos partir para a prática! Aprenda a montar um sonar caseiro Para construir o nosso sonar, vamos usar alguns materiais fáceis de encontrar nessas lojas que vendem peças para eletrônica. Você vai precisar de um arduino, um servo motor, um sensor ultrassônico, uma protoboard e alguns jumpers. Além disso, usamos para montar a estrutura um pedaço de papelão e cola quente! Esse nosso projeto foi inspirado no sonar construído pelo canal How To Mechatronics (🤍 e, inclusive, estamos usando como base os códigos que eles disponibilizaram no site deles. Seguem as referências originais e a pasta zipada contendo a versão original e a nossa versão modificada do código: 🤍 🤍 🤍 A montagem é bem simples: Nós vamos colar o motor na base de madeira. Depois, com pedacinho de papelão a gente faz uma espécie de “L” e usa-o para fixar o sensor no motor. A ideia é que conforme o motor gire o sensor nos dê a distância até o objeto mais próximo na direção em que ele está apontando. Em seguida, ligamos todos os fios ao Arduino usando o esquema mostrado no vídeo. Agora é só encaixar tudo em cima do eixo do servomotor e é isso. O nosso sonar está pronto!
